Ryan inherited by stubbornness. But he evolves it to become a stronger will power than my plain rebellious personality. While I am interested on breaking rules, he's into making sense about this world in a way that he believes in. Be it a rule or not, it is completely irrelevant to him. He do things his own way.
Like the "number 4" homework he had a few weeks ago. When I was casually asking him why did he skip one of the questions, he told me that the question was wrong. Totally wrong!
Me: Ryan, why didn't you finish this question?
Ryan: Mama, the question is wrong.
Me: Why is it, my dear? How many toasters do you see?
Ryan: 2, mama.
Me: So why don't you circle the number 2?
Ryan: Coz there're 4 toasts coming out of the 2 toasters! 2 toasts from each and there are 4!
Me: er… But there're 2 toasters.
Ryan: But it's a homework about the number 4.
Me: er… But I think the teachers want to ask you how many toasters are there.
Ryan: Then the teachers are mixed up. Mama, why don't you count the number of toasts. Tell me, how many?
Me: er… 4
Ryan: See?! 4 it is.
